Hiking up to deadhorse lake is a 22 mile journey in one of the most remote parts of the Uinta mountains with almost no one around.
I was fortunate to be greeted with fantastic weather condition for 2 nights of peaceful relaxation. The beauty here makes it my vote for the most under-rated uinta lake. I arrived the first day just in time to take these two images before the sun set. I arrived no more than 5 minutes before this photo and was still trying to figure out the settings on my new camera. There was a little smoke in the air from some nearby fires.
In the morning I explored around the lake to capture the sunrise from the opposite direction
and explored the area for different compositions
at sunset the clouds had left, but the wind calmed down in time for some clear reflections
it starts to get light at 5:30 am. for the last morning I knew I wanted to go back to catch the sun star again coming up over the ridge.
next trip is Wind Rivers and Norway.
